BONVO

About

The architect behind Bonvo.

Bonvo Consulting is the practice of Gergely Kovács — senior engineer, systems architect, and co-founder — based in Budapest, working worldwide.

Gergely Kovácshas spent ten years taking ownership of systems other people were afraid to touch. He started in large-scale eCommerce — four years on a 130,000-product Magento catalog — then co-founded and led Venturi Systems, an AI-driven urban traffic optimisation company that won two B2G contracts and optimised intersections across three Hungarian municipalities. He built data platforms for WHO and UNICEF stakeholders at Pulilab, shipping an OpenAI-powered production system before ChatGPT existed. Since 2023 he has been Senior Engineer for Architecture & Platform on a contract-intelligence platform serving governmental, defence, and infrastructure clients — where he replaced a legacy job system live, commands production incidents, files pre-disclosure security research, and runs the applied-AI practice.

In 2026 he founded Bonvo Consulting to do that work for more than one company at a time.

Philosophy

I think in subsystems and rewrites, not patches.

The philosophy is ownership. Not advice delivered from a safe distance, but responsibility for the subsystem, the migration, the deadline — held until the system is stable and the team can run it alone. Immediate action, executed with a long-term vision.

The Name

Why “Bonvo”.

Bonvo is a name Gergely has already shipped under: Bonvo Ski Maps, an offline 3D ski-map product covering 1,400+ resorts — ~138,000 hand-written lines of code, built solo. The consulting practice shares the name and the standard: minimalist, precise, engineered to work when it matters. Different products, one bar.

Reach

Central Europe, natively. The world, fluently.

Bonvo operates from Budapest with native Hungarian and Ukrainian, fluent Russian, and bilingual-level English. For US and UK companies, that means senior European engineering capacity with full-overlap communication in English. For companies operating across Central and Eastern Europe and the post-Soviet region, it means an architect who reads the codebase and the room — no translation layer.

The practice scales

One architect accountable. A team when the job needs it.

Bonvo is led hands-on by one senior architect. But you are never limited to one pair of hands: the practice scales a vetted senior team up to the size a job requires — and back down when it's done — without ever changing who owns the outcome.

01

One accountable owner

Every engagement is owned end to end by Gergely Kovács — the architect who does the work, commands the incident, and signs off on the result. That never changes.

02

A senior bench, on demand

When a build needs more hands, Bonvo assembles a vetted team of senior engineers scaled to the job — from a solo rescue to a full squad — and stands it down when the work is done.

03

No bench-warming, no dilution

You pay for the size the problem needs, not a fixed team. The standard stays senior; the outcome stays owned by one person.

Work with Gergely.
